Frequently asked questions

How many questions are on the civics test?

It depends on your test version. If you filed Form N-400 on or after Oct 20, 2025, you take the 2025 test: up to 20 questions drawn from an official bank of 128. If you filed before that date, you take the 2008 test: up to 10 questions drawn from an official bank of 100.

How many must I answer correctly?

On the 2008 test, 6 correct answers out of up to 10 questions pass. On the 2025 test, 12 correct answers out of up to 20 questions pass.

Are these the actual test questions?

Yes. The 100-question bank on this site is the official USCIS 2008-version bank, and the practice mode covers the nationally answerable questions of the official 2025 bank. What is the 65/20 special consideration?

Applicants who are 65 or older and have been lawful permanent residents for at least 20 years may study a reduced list of 20 questions, marked with an asterisk in the official USCIS booklet. HundredCivics tags every one so you can filter the set down.
